Here at Pyxis, it is our goal to create a magical and memorable experience that will last a life time! That said it is of the utmost importance that we make sure that your experience is as safe as it is enjoyable for everyone, including Pyxis. As a host, we would like you to assist us in this, and have come up with some rules to help us both.
- Please keep an eye on your children, our staff and volunteers keep our focus on Pyxis and whoever is currently interacting with her, and cannot safely divide our focus.
- All children must have an adult present to interact with Pyxis, all children under 4 must have an adult actively accompany them.
- At only 32" tall, Pyxis is not suitable for riding. Attempting to ride her could cause her injury, and will not be tolerated and can result in the immediate termination of our visit.
- No open toed shoes, please! We want to insure the safety of tiny toes!
- Pyxis unfortunately cannot do stairs, and can only do 1-2 steps.
- While Pyxis is fully trained to handle noise and excitement, she prefers it when things are on the calmer side. For that reason we ask that you keep all party crackers, loud music, and noisemakers to a minimum while Pyxis is present. We also ask that you to not run up to her, excessively wave, scream, or wave objects or balloons in her face. We make exceptions for guests with disabilities.
- Please keep about 10-15 feet away while Pyxis is loading and unloading from the van. Once she is unloaded, please wait for her handler to give the ok before approaching.
- We refuse to tolerate any violence against Pyxis. This includes such things as hitting, smacking, kicking, pulling her ears, etc. This behavior will result in the immediate termination of our visit.
- Please secure all dogs. While we love our furry friends, dogs are very unpredictable around unicorns. Even trained service dogs have been known to forget themselves in her presence, and we ask that they be kept at a distance at our handlers' discretion.
- Please do not feed Pyxis. Unicorns have a very special diet, and eating the wrong thing can make them sick. Our handlers will bring treats to small private events, which can be given at the end. Sadly, we do not offer this option at large or public events as too many treats are bad for her.
- Last, but not least, HAVE FUN!!!
